Slow internet connection is really frustrating. It is more when we know our WiFi is broadcasting enough signal with high speed internet but we are unreachable to signal’s strength. In such situations we often require boosting WiFi signals and retransmit to make it reachable to such areas where WiFi signal was weak.
Asus repeater mode helps me to boost my router’s signal and make internet accessible from any corner of my home. Do you have such repeater or signal booster? Today we will discuss some good options for boosting WiFi signal through extenders or repeaters.
Measures to boost WiFi signal
Even after having a good internet connection we are sometime not able to access internet, we may get no internet secured message. Low WiFi signal strength is the main reason for this. We can boost our routers signal by applying certain measures as described below.
Updating Router Firmware
When our router has outdated firmware, signal strength might decrease from its original strength. So a good recommendation is to always update your router’s firmware.
Updating firmware at regular basis will help in performance improvement, better features with latest updates and security updates.
Optimal Router Placement
All our rooms are not same. Router placement requires a proper management to get proper and effective wireless coverage.
Router should be placed at such a place from where it can provide wireless coverage in all directions. If we have more than one level (or floor) in our home or office, we can use extenders or repeaters to boost our router’s signal at other floor as well.
We can limit the amount of bandwidth that apps use from the Quality-of-Service (QoS) tool present for our router. Not all but most of the latest routers have inbuilt Qos tool. This is really helpful when we want to restrict some applications and services with lower priority and specify higher priority to such applications and services which are really important and require good connectivity.
